Adilei Folk Singing Tour: Summer 2019
We are happy to invite you to join us for our Summer 2019 Folk Singing Tour!
The dates for this summer’s tour are August 6-21.
As always, our goal is for you to have as organic an experience as possible when learning our traditional music, so apart from daily workshops and various sightseeing visits, we want to put these songs in context — share our singing lifestyle with you.
Not only will you get to learn from us, and our teachers in the villages in Western Georgia, you will also get to explore the amazing nature of Georgia, swim in beautiful mountain streams, and play old-school games, all while singing a wide repertoire of regional songs.
This adventure will have it all:
We will stay with singing families, try local cuisine (even learn how to make a dish or two), and take part in the recently UNESCO’ed tradition of the supra.
We will behold breathtaking mountainous passes, with picnics and singing lessons, and lectures, outside in the nature. For the more active in the group, there will be hiking opportunities as well.
Your teachers (in addition to the members of Adilei, of course), will include:
Tornike Skhiereli (head of ensemble Dziriani, member of ensemble Sakhioba)
Dato Zurabiani (of ensemble Chveneburebi)
The Chamgeliani family in Lakhushdi (Svaneti).
The cost for a two-week tour (all meals, transportation (except your airfare to Georgia), and lessons included) this year will be $1350/person.
We will offer two kinds of discounts:
$100 early bird discount to those who commit and send us their $200 confirmation deposit before June 15th, 2019.
$200 discount to those who have been on one of our previous tours.
The exact route with a day-by-day breakdown of activities, as well as more detailed information about the teachers will be announced later.
We hope to hear from you soon!
